The Quiet Paradox : Relationships & Social Media
A modern day reflections on men and women - the crave for attention, validation and connection with unsettling versions of self awareness.
Relationships & Social Media... a quiet paradox we all live with.
Temptation doesn’t wear the same face anymore. It doesn’t wait on corners or arrive through whispers - it lights up our screens, wrapped in pixels, disguised as casual connection. We now live in a world where attention is instant and validation is addictive. The idea that something-or someone-better is just a swipe away has slowly altered our sense of what commitment really means.
And maybe it’s worth asking: Are we connecting... or just comparing?
In this pursuit of fleeting highs, have we started mistaking attention for affection? Intimacy for interaction? How often do we scroll for comfort while love sits quietly beside us-unchosen, unnoticed?
It’s not about blame. It’s about awareness.
When the lines between casual and intimate begin to blur, when we share more with strangers online than with the ones we once called home, something sacred starts to slip. A message doesn’t have to be explicit to drift into betrayal. Sometimes, it’s in the energy. In the intention. In the quiet exits from presence.
Have we become too casual with what is sacred? Too accessible with what should be held gently?
That person who hears and speaks to you, who stays even when the days are heavy, who asks how you’re really feeling and waits for the presence and the truth - do they not deserve the fullness of your presence?
We all want to feel seen. But maybe the question is: Where are we choosing to be seen - and by whom? The one who wants to show up with presence or the ones who are an immediate effect of hyper activities on social media.
In a time where love can feel like a performance and loyalty a rare trait, maybe we’re being invited to return to stillness. To re-learn slowness. To sit with the discomfort instead of reaching for distraction. To remember that love is less about the fireworks and more about the quiet choosing and building what is needed - again and again.
Not everyone gets this right. And maybe that’s okay.
But perhaps it's worth reflecting: Are we feeding the very thing that keeps us empty?
Because real love… the kind that needs presence, surrender, devotion, that grounds, that stays - it rarely comes with a notification.
